How visits work
So, what’s a visit actually like?
Here’s what happens at your first visit, what comes after, and what it all costs. Booking happens on Functional Medicine Uptown’s booking page.
Step one
Your first visit: 75 minutes, all about you.
We go through your whole story: your cycle, health history, labs, food, sleep, stress, and what you’d love to change. Bring your questions (all of them). You leave with next steps, and a written plan follows.

After that
Follow-ups, and staying on track.
Follow-ups are where the plan becomes part of your real life. They’re 15 to 60 minutes, and how often depends on your plan. We decide together, one visit at a time.
- A plan, in writingNo need to remember everything we talked about. You get your plan written down: what we’re starting with, and why.
- Follow-upsWe check in on what’s working, tweak what isn’t, and I cheer you on toward your goals (and keep you accountable). If you’d like, I’ll loop in your family doctor or fertility clinic.
- Staying on trackOnce things feel good, regular check-ins help you keep it that way, through whatever life throws at you: a new job, trying to conceive, a new baby.
Fees
What visits cost.
Fees are per visit, and you pay as you go.

Naturopathic visits are exempt from GST/HST. Products such as supplements are generally taxable.
FMU asks for 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations may be subject to a cancellation fee.

Naturopathic care works alongside your family doctor, midwife, obstetrician or fertility clinic, not instead of them. With your consent, I share a written plan and coordinate with them.
Questions
Good questions.
Is naturopathic care covered by OHIP?
No. Many extended health plans cover visits with a naturopathic doctor, so check yours. You’ll get a receipt after each visit.
Do I need a referral?
Nope. You can book directly on FMU’s booking page.
Can I keep seeing my fertility clinic?
Yes, absolutely. With your consent, I coordinate with your fertility clinic or family doctor so your plans fit together.
Does this replace my family doctor?
No. Naturopathic care works alongside the care you already have.
How often are follow-ups?
It depends on your plan, and we decide together. As things settle, check-ins can be spaced further apart.
Can my partner come to my visit?
Partners are very welcome, in a visit of their own. Your first visit is 75 minutes for your story, and theirs deserves its own time too.
Can I talk to Leizl before booking a first visit?

Can I send my health questions by email?
Please don’t send health information by email or through this site. Call the clinic, or bring it to your visit.
